Mom in law for sale

My father in law has asked me to make this post to see if anyone will take my mother in law. Rude huh, like I would ever do that. I mean, she is the nicest lady on the face of the earth.

All kidding aside, I joke because she was giving me a hard time for having not posted in a very long time. So tina, here is your post.

I'm turning Japanese

Amy and I don't get out as much as either of us would like. I am horrible about planning dates, and Amy doesn't push it because usually a Friday night mean a night where we can actually relax. But a few weeks ago we did get out. We went to Tempanyaki's (Spelling?) in Lehi which is a Benihnna's clone. We have been to Benihana's before and enjoyed it, but I must say that Tempanyaki's was much better. The "show" wasn't all that fancy, but the food was excellent. Seeing that Amy is not a Japanese food fan, and that she really enjoyed eating there bodes well for me. Again, Lehi, or Utah Country for that matter is not the food capital of the world. Selection stinks, but it isi nice to have at least one really good resteraunt in town.

What else is good in Utah?

Crazy Hair

When the girls became old enough to have hair, Amy used to complain about having to do it because she thought she was not any good at it. Well 7 years later, Amy has be come very good at doing hair. One of the things that she has never been able to achieve with Sara's hair is curls, so of course she finds some web page that gives her the idea to subject perfectly patient Sara to the torture witnessed in the pics above.
Stay tuned for the resulting do tomorrow.

Evernote-ing

I am horrible at organizing anything. I have these incredibly great aspirations of being super organized, and I spend an outrageous amount of time trying to achieve it, but it just doesn't ever come together. I end up having one bad day where everything goes to pot, and I throw it out the window.
Managing all the pieces of paper and notes that I take at work is one of these things. Evernote is a notebook on your computer. You can create notes, import pics, screenscrape web pages, and a million other things. All of this syncs with their web client which can then be accessed via your phone or another computer. It really isn't perfect yet, and is still missing some of the bigger features that they still have planed. But its free, and very useful.
So I am going to blog about it, and post my tips and tricks for how I am using it to stay organized.
Here is my first tip for all of you home making mothers out there, evernote is a perfect recipe/home making tips repository. Find a website that has a great recipe on it? Don't bookmark it, just hit the evernote button on your web browser and and is not permannatly stored on your computer. See some good tips on cleaning baby crap out of your carpet, click and its saved. All of this is now in your notebook which is fully searchable. Give it a try.
Evernote 3 is now in beta and is a free program. Find it at www.evernote.com .

Crawling pains

So as you can see, my sweet Anna is just entering the dreaded crawling stages. Seven months old and already preparing for seventeen and a half years of being a terror in my life. Though the house has been baby-proofed since we first moved in seven years ago, Ella entered the self sustaining years three plus years ago. That's when the stair gates all came down. Well that's all over now.

Anna has been a great baby, but she has had it rough for a little over a month now. That was when she first started teething. This has been rough on me and Amy. Nights have been real short and we are both extremely exhausted. The last few weeks have been difficult due to the spitting up of everything.

And to think we are talking about number four already, yikes!

Going for the Gold

I love the Olympics. It is probably the only sport where Amy and I sit down and watch it together. So when the Olympics are on, nothing else is getting done.
Actually that is not true. We really only watch what is being broadcast during prime time. We thoroughly enjoyed the opening ceremonies. Since it was done by the guy who directed the movies Hero and House of Flying Daggers, I expected it to be pretty amazing, and I was not disappointed. One of the nicest things about watching this year was being able to DVR it and then fast forward not only the commercials, but the boring parts. Yes I am talking about the 1hr+ of athletes walking in. I am sure it is a necessary part of the opening ceremonies, but I refuse to sit through it.
It has also been fun to watch the gymnastic events with the girls. They have really started to do well in gymnastics this last year, and to have them see what it looks like a professional level has been fun. Their eyes sure get big, and they think it is the coolest thing ever.
So far, China seems to be doing a great job. Other than the ugly venue buildings, it looks to be an exciting event.
