I'm turning Japanese

Amy and I don't get out as much as either of us would like. I am horrible about planning dates, and Amy doesn't push it because usually a Friday night mean a night where we can actually relax. But a few weeks ago we did get out. We went to Tempanyaki's (Spelling?) in Lehi which is a Benihnna's clone. We have been to Benihana's before and enjoyed it, but I must say that Tempanyaki's was much better. The "show" wasn't all that fancy, but the food was excellent. Seeing that Amy is not a Japanese food fan, and that she really enjoyed eating there bodes well for me. Again, Lehi, or Utah Country for that matter is not the food capital of the world. Selection stinks, but it isi nice to have at least one really good resteraunt in town.

What else is good in Utah?

Going for the Gold

I love the Olympics. It is probably the only sport where Amy and I sit down and watch it together. So when the Olympics are on, nothing else is getting done.
Actually that is not true. We really only watch what is being broadcast during prime time. We thoroughly enjoyed the opening ceremonies. Since it was done by the guy who directed the movies Hero and House of Flying Daggers, I expected it to be pretty amazing, and I was not disappointed. One of the nicest things about watching this year was being able to DVR it and then fast forward not only the commercials, but the boring parts. Yes I am talking about the 1hr+ of athletes walking in. I am sure it is a necessary part of the opening ceremonies, but I refuse to sit through it.
It has also been fun to watch the gymnastic events with the girls. They have really started to do well in gymnastics this last year, and to have them see what it looks like a professional level has been fun. Their eyes sure get big, and they think it is the coolest thing ever.
So far, China seems to be doing a great job. Other than the ugly venue buildings, it looks to be an exciting event.

To Dew or not to Dew

Ok, so I went a year with out partaking soda. Actually, that is a like because I think on two occasions I binged on my mothers spiked lemonade, which was heavily dosed with Sprite. But I did it for a whole year, and was very proud. But lately I have fallen off the wagon. In fact, as you can see from the photo above, I am enjoying a Diet Mtn Dew right now, though I usually stick to the Diet Coke.
My main reason for quiting last year, was becuase I had picked back up Mtn Biking, and was riding two or three times a week. Well after the baby was born, that ended. So now I am a sedentary cube worker, whose workout involves wrestling a honkin six month child to sleep at night, and then only getting 5 hours of sleep. Soda keeps me awake at work, water does not.
Besides all of that, water tastes like, well....um....water. That is great for 80% of the time. but when I am resting on my couch watching some useless and irrelevant TV program, I really enjoy having a soda.
So for now I am Dewing the Soda, and hopefully some day I will stop. But I will not beat myself up for it in the meantime.

Eating out

Since we have put our house up for sale, we have been eating out a lot. With the traffic in the evenings of people looking at the house, we have been out of the house to stay out of their way. And to prevent the house from stinking like food, we have decided that it is just easier to eat out.

Tonight is wingers. The girls just finished gymnastics and are a bit rowdy, but at least they are not boys.

In other good news, a realtor who showed our house a couple of weeks ago, called to tell us that an offer should be coming soon. Fingers crossed. I will update as soon as I know more.

Welcome to our blog!

Okay, so I am like the worst blogger on the world. But with my new handy dandy blackberry, I am hoping that this will change. I will plan on updating frequently with news and pics. Enjoy
